Terror in the Caves - Keyframe

Another of two keyframes I worked on for my post-graduate thesis project: After the Unknown. This piece was definitely very challenging for me, but I had a lot of fun tackling that challenge with the help of my advisor. Since showing the scale of the monster in contrast with the people was very important, I did my best to show that as the main focus through composition, while also depicting the fear and horror within the scene. The viewer experiencing this terror with the main character of being so close to the beast while somehow remaining undetected.
Playing with light and shadow was also a crucial element to emphasize the uneasiness; the dark tunnels within the cave, the corners you can't quite see into. All very fun to mess around with.
This is another piece I've decided to not finish, but I definitely learned a lot just throughout the process of working on it.
